CHICO, Calif. - The Community Action Agency of Butte County, Inc. is gearing up to distribute food to those in need this month. The North State Food Bank's event will take place on Friday at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints on West East Avenue.
According to the agency, the food distribution is set to begin at 9 a.m. and will continue until 11 a.m., or until supplies run out. The event is free for all attendees.
“We’ve organized a drive-through event using pre-boxed food to help protect those in need of food and our volunteers to the maximum extent,” said Tom Dearmore, chief operating officer of Community Action Agency.
Attendees are instructed to remain in their vehicles and follow traffic flow guides. Volunteers will place food boxes, each weighing between 17 and 22 pounds
