HAZLETON, Pa. — A fire destroyed and apartment complex in Hazleton overnight.

It happened at the intersection of East Walnut and South Wyoming Streets.

Crews on the scene tell us one person went to the hospital after jumping from the building.

Nine other people were living in the apartment and got out safely.

Ismael Velez lives nearby and says, "There were people living in there that wasn't supposed to be in there and I knew it's getting cold and they gotta find a way how to get warm. I don't know how the fire got started, but I knew it was gonna happen sometime."

A state police fire marshal was on scene looking for the cause of the fire in Luzerne County.
