BAY MINETTE, Ala. (WKRG) -- Local colleges are seeing growth in enrollment at the start of the new school year. More students are giving community college a try after high school.
I stopped by their Bay Minette campus yesterday. President Dr. Aaron Milner says their overall enrollment is up 17% compared to last year. That’s more than 8,800 students across their eight campuses and their highest enrollment ever.
Milner says they’ve also turned the tide on retention--bringing up retention from pandemic era levels. He says most students are college age and many are turning to them as an affordable option in higher education.
