MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — A local woman was arrested after she was seen driving a rental vehicle that had been reported stolen, according to the Mobile Police Department.

Officers were in the area of Government Street at approximately 8 p.m. on Tuesday when they spotted a 2024 Ford Transit U-Haul van that had been reported stolen, according to an MPD news release.

Officers allegedly found a woman inside the van and reportedly confirmed that she had the van since July 11, 2025, when she rented it.

She never returned it, according to the release.

Latasha Hollis, 36, was arrested and charged with theft by fraudulent lease or rental.

She was taken to Metro Jail, where she is waiting on a bond hearing.
