COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - The Manitou Incline Trail will temporarily close several times throughout September for scheduled events, according to the City of Colorado Springs Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Department.

The scheduled closures are the following:

Sept. 11 – Firefighter Incline Climb

The trail will be closed from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Sept. 11 for the ninth annual Firefighter Incline Climb.

The event is to honor the 343 firefighters who lost their lives on 9/11.

Sept. 20 – Pikes Peak Ascent (due to weather uncertainty and safety precautions)

The trail will be closed all day on Sept. 20 for the Pikes Peak Ascent.
