COLUMBUS, Ohio — The battle over Ohio's political boundaries is starting to take shape.
On Tuesday morning, Ohio House and Senate Democratic leaders proposed a new congressional district map.
"We owe it to the people of Ohio to do our jobs and pass a plan before the end of the month," said Senate Minority Leader Nickie Antonio (D- Lakewood).
In 2022, the current congressional district map did not get super-majority support from the entire General Assembly, including 50% of Democrats. That means it expires in 2026.
Democrats call their proposed map the fairest redistricting proposal either party has put forward. It could also shift more power to their party.
