Local criminal court officials, including Crowns, defence lawyers and police, raised $1,000 in a ball tournament for Chapman House hospice in Owen Sound.
They held what was dubbed the Justice League Charity Baseball tournament on Sept. 7 at the ball diamonds in Desboro. All members of the justice sector in Grey Bruce were invited to participate in a tournament. The winning team chose a charity to donate the proceeds to.

Four teams participated: Charles’ Angels (Crown Attorney’s office and Court Services), 10(b) Sluggers (defence counsel and legal-aid staff), Naughty by Nature (Grey Bruce OPP), and The B Team (Grey Bruce OPP).
Naughty by Nature was victorious and the OPP opted to donate the $1,000 proceeds to Chapman House, said James Rice, an assistant Crown attorney
