PHOENIX - Our weather pattern shifts toward windier conditions for the next several days.

High pressure continues to sit off to the east of Arizona, allowing for some monsoonal moisture to pass over West Texas, New Mexico and far eastern Arizona the next several days. At the same time, an area of low pressure and associated trough slides over the West Coast the next couple of days. As it moves inland, winds increase across Arizona – between the area of high and low pressure.

Today:

A wind advisory is in place for Wednesday through 7 p.m. in northern Arizona. In these spots, gusts up to 45 mph are forecast. Some minor wind damage is possible in areas that experience longer duration winds – particularly any spots that sustained previous wind damage from storms the last few weeks.
