DENVER (KDVR) -- Eastbound traffic will have to take a detour around a busy stretch of Mineral Avenue in Littleton for several weeks.

Eastbound Mineral Avenue will be closed between Southpark Lane and Southpark Terrace from Sept. 15 through Oct. 25, to allow for improvements as part of the Mineral Place redevelopment project.

Saunders Construction, the primary contractor for the project, said westbound lanes of Mineral Avenue will remain open during the improvements, while eastbound traffic will be detoured via eastbound Southpark Lane to West County Line Road, then northbound South Broadway.

Pedestrians will be detoured to the north sidewalks of Mineral Avenue, the contractor said.

Drivers and residents can expect to see construction crews and equipment present throughout the duration
