NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and the Children's Cancer Fund of New Mexico helps children with cancer and their families cope with the emotional, financial and educational needs of fighting cancer.

Dr. Jessica Valdez, clinician and assistant professor with UNM Health Services, says about 100 new children are diagnosed with cancer each year. The Children's Cancer Fund offers a variety of services for children and their families. Some services include transportation assistance
