GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A nonprofit that helps new parents will suspend its work in Ottawa County, citing "a gap in funding."
MomsBloom will wrap up visits with current clients in the coming weeks. Clients who were signed up for future service will be referred elsewhere.
It said in a release this week that it "remains committed to serving families in both regions and is working toward a long-term, sustainable return in Ottawa."
The group says its work in Ottawa County was made possible by seed funding for the Community Foundation for the Holland/Zeeland area. That money will run out Sept. 30 and "additional anticipated funding sources were also unavailable," the organization said — though it did not explain what those sources were.
“This decision was not made lightly,” MomsBloom B
