Recent seismic activity is prompting the California Department of Transportation to build a temporary two-lane detour on Highway 36 in Lassen County.

The highway roadwork is happening east of Fredonyer Summit and is expected to be completed before winter weather arrives in the region, Caltrans announced Monday.

Fredonyer Summit is about 13 miles east of Lake Almanor and 12 miles west of Susanville.

Motorists should expect one-way traffic controls with temporary traffic signals and delays of up to 10 minutes every day at all hours, Caltrans said in the announcement.
