GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – A local church sign has been hit by a speeding vehicle that veered off the road.
“They came down Elm Street and ran off the road, so maybe at a pretty good speed,” Jim Wood says, a member of the church’s support committee.
Today, Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Greenville is picking up the pieces from damage they believe was done Monday night.
“They hit our sign. It is pretty much demolished at this point, and then they continued on,” Wood says.
They believe the church’s main sign was knocked out by a speeding vehicle on Elm Street that ran off the road, taking out a chunk of the concrete and their children’s book exchange.
“First thought is, how bad is the damage? Is the sign still up so people can see who we are? And then, is whoever did it alright?” Church
