SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - Authorities said they are searching for a new person of interest in the shooting death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

Kirk was shot and killed during a Utah Valley University event while speaking to students.

Investigators said the shooter fired from a rooftop wearing dark clothing and remains at large.

This comes after police initially had taken a person of interest into custody, but they have since been released.

Both major political parties reacted to Wednesday’s violence.
