(WJW) - Northeast Ohio has been soaking up the sunshine all week! Although the weather has been near picture-perfect, the area could use some rain. The latest drought monitor was released on Thursday, Sept. 11, and it shows much of the area is now considered to be abnormally dry. Parts of Carroll and Columbiana County are now even considered to be in a severe drought.

Since Aug. 1st, only 2.15″ of rain has been officially recorded in Cleveland. Akron-Canton has not even seen a half inch of rain in the last 40 days!

Rain is likely going to be very limited across NE Ohio over the next week or so. The next chance of rain will not come until Saturday night into Sunday when a cold front slides through the area. Right now, it does not look like this front is going to bring in a lot of rain.
