(WFSB) -Across the state, towns are holding memorials and ceremonies to honor the victims of the September 11, 2001 attacks.

Below is a guide to events and memorial sites open to the public.

Avon - The Avon Volunteer Fire Department will begin the day with a Tunnel to Towers Tribute Run at 6:30 a.m., followed by an 8:00 a.m. memorial service at the firehouse.

Bridgeport - At the Total Mortgage Arena, over 400 volunteers will gather from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. to pack more than 140,000 meals for Connecticut Foodshare.

Darien — 8:25 a.m. at the town’s 9/11 Monument (courtyard behind Middlesex Middle School, Hollow Tree Ridge Road). The Monuments & Ceremonies Commission is hosting the Annual September 11 Memorial Observation.
