Our partners at Boston Radio station Mix 104.1 are leading a special walk on Friday to raise money for a nonprofit that provides lifesaving suicide prevention services throughout Massachusetts.

Suicide is the second leading cause of death for people ages 10 to 34. This cause is deeply personal to Mix 104.1's Kennedy Elsey, which is why she is walking from Natick to Brookline in hopes that members from the public will donate.

“Well, I went through some pretty dark times," she explained.

Kennedy has used her platform as co-host of Boston's top-rated morning radio show to destigmatize mental health struggles and highlight the triumphs.
