A man was arrested in connection to an armed robbery that happened on Aug. 26 in the parking lot of a business located at 240 Highway 31 in Hartselle.

According to police, 18-year-old Keilyn Alex Speegle, of Hartselle, is accused of entering the victim’s vehicle and brandishing a handgun while demanding money. He then allegedly held the victim at gunpoint and removed cash from the vehicle before fleeing the scene.

Following the incident, an investigator with the Hartselle Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division identified Speegle as the suspect.

Hartselle Police say evidence collected during the investigation corroborated the victim’s account, leading to the issuance of a warrant for Speegle’s arrest.

Speegle was taken into custody on Wednesday and charged with robbery.
