A hiker reported missing to deputies Wednesday has been found with a broken leg in Bankhead National Forest, according to the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office.

The sheriff's office says the hiker was found halfway between the Thompson trailhead and the "big tree" Thursday.

Crews are actively working on getting him out of the woods.
