The Mt. Hope High School football team begins its 2025 Division III season for keeps this weekend when the Huskies welcome Classical to their new temporary home at Veterans Field in Warren Friday night, Sept. 12. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.

Mt. Hope enters the fall coming off a very successful 2024 campaign, which began with two losses to the aforementioned Purple and Ponaganset before the locals reeled off six consecutive wins to close out the regular season. The Huskies' run ended with a loss to Rogers in the quarterfinals of the league playoffs.

With some 15 returning starters/contributors in the fold, expectations are rather lofty for the locals as they enter their third season under the direction of head coach Shane Parker.
