LANSING, Mich. — Thomas Clark likes to toss his hat into the ring when lottery pots like Powerball and Mega Millions soar into the billions.
The 54-year-old Clio man bought a Powerball ticket at the Conlee Country Store outside of Flint this summer.
“I play Powerball and Mega Millions whenever the jackpot starts getting up there,” said Clark. “I scanned my ticket at the store and got a message to file a claim at the Lottery office. I forgot I added Power Play to my ticket, so I thought I’d only won $50,000. It was quite the surprise when I scanned the ticket on the app and $150,000 came up on the screen!”
He matched four white balls and the Powerball - 16-19-34-37-64 PB: 22 – in the Aug. 25 drawing to win a $50,000 prize. Thanks to the Power Play, the prize was multiplied to $150,000.
