MONTCALM COUNTY, Mich. — A woman is dead after being hit by a vehicle in Montcalm County on Wednesday evening.
According to the Michigan State Police (MSP), around 10:30 p.m., troopers were dispatched to a fatal crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in Maple Valley Township.
Troopers said the crash happened near the intersection of Coral and Gravel Ridge Roads.
MSP said, according to the preliminary investigation, it's believed that a 60-year-old woman from the Coral area stopped in the westbound lane and got out of her vehicle.
Troopers said she was then hit by a vehicle, driven by a 32-year-old Howard City area man, while in the eastbound lane.
Troopers said the woman was pronounced dead at the scene and the investigation is ongoing.
