RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - Nevada Assembly Speaker Steve Yeager is announcing plans to form a legislative cybersecurity group.
The announcement comes after Nevada’s government systems were the target of a cyberattack that shut down operations statewide, including the DMV.
The attack has affected online resources for weeks.
Yeager says the lack of information about what happened and what could have been stolen shows the need for the group.
The goal of the group will be to come up with plans to prevent these attacks in the future and then share its findings with the Legislative Commission to help create future laws.
