Ithink it's safe to say I'm not in the key demographic for Wilmington-shot Amazon TV drama "The Summer I Turned Pretty." I'm a 55-year-old man and the show is most-watched by women ages 18 to 34, so I get it, it's not "for me," as the kids say.
Nonethless, I've been intrigued by the volumnious amount of social media content and media coverage in general stirred up by TSITP, whose upcoming finale Sept. 17 is one of the most anticipated of any series in recent memory. That's when lead character Belly (Lola Tung) is expected to choose between brothers Conrad (Christopher Briney) and Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno) — or maybe she doesn't choose at all, enraging a generation.
To be honest, I've been more entertained by TSITP memes (one jokester, frustrated by the lead character's dithering, termed
