CANDO – North Star was exhausted after its 30-14 loss to Midway/Minto on Aug. 29.

The Bearcats, a nine-man football co-op formed by Cando and Bisbee-Egeland, had entered the 2025 season with 17 players on the roster. However, after a trio of injuries, the program found itself down to just 14.

After the defeat, North Star made the decision to transition to a junior varsity schedule for the rest of the 2025 season.

"It was definitely a difficult decision," head coach Daniel Grande said. "I think ultimately, it was just what I think was probably going to be best for our program in the long run."
