AG says he won't block hiring of new Education Board attorney

Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond says he will allow the state Board of Education to hire a private attorney it selected to serve as its legal counsel, but with reservations.

Drummond announced Wednesday, Sept. 10 that he wouldn't interfere with the board’s selection of Oklahoma City attorney Ryan Leonard, a week after Drummond criticized Leonard as “a politically connected attorney with little to no experience advising a state board.”
