ASHLAND, Ohio — The Ashland County Health Department (ACHD) says the Discount Drug Mart location on Claremont Street in Ashland could reopen as soon as Friday if pest control confirms a rodent infestation at the store has been resolved.

The health department reinspected the store on Thursday and found cleanup efforts acceptable, noting that the building had been cleaned and secured to deter future infestations, contaminated items were disposed of, and remaining products were disinfected.

Discount Drug Mart was temporarily shut down Tuesday after health officials discovered what they described as a severe rodent infestation that posed an imminent health hazard.
