As someone who grew up with financial challenges, Danielle Findlay understands the importance of school meal programs – p articularly those that provide universal access.
“I was a kid that probably would have benefited from going to a nutrition program or a breakfast program at that time, but I didn’t want to because, at that time, they were more programs for kids that (needed it) where now it’s just basically, ‘here’s a some nourishment at school that’s open to everyone,’ and that stigma is kind of gone,” Findlay said.
