GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) - A local, popular eatery was one of two Colorado locations to end up in The New York Times' 50 best restaurants in America.

Bin 707 Foodbar, 235 Fifth St. in Grand Junction, was singled out by the publication. NYT noted the restaurant's Southwestern and Mexican flavors found in the cuisine.

"The chef Josh Niernberg goes for playful, even risky, flavor combinations, and you will wonder if he can pull them off," the article read.

Niernberg isn't a stranger to the national spotlight. He was a James Beard chef finalist this year and, previously, a four-time James Beard semi-finalist. He has also been featured in Forbes.

NYT highlighted Bin 707's sunchoke hush puppies, maitake mushroom pizza and Angus filet.
