EVERGREEN, Colo. (KREX) — At 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office announced the identity of the Evergreen High School shooter as 16-year-old Desmond Holly.

The shooting, which took place on Wednesday at 12:24 p.m., injured three people, including Holly. According to the sheriff's office, Holly died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at a hospital on Wednesday evening.

The two other people currently remain in hospital care in critical condition. The families of the two victims plan to release their identities and a statement later on Thursday.
