A Higdon woman is charged with manslaughter after she allegedly gave another woman a deadly dose of fentanyl, according to the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office. Two others were arrested on drug-related charges following the incident.

On Tuesday, DeKalb County deputies, the Ider Police Department, and DeKalb Ambulance Service responded to a medical call in the 100 block of Alabama Highway 75 in Higdon.

When they arrived, first responders discovered 53-year-old Kimberly Ann Little dead inside the residence.

Drug Paraphernalia was also observed in plain view, and the DeKalb County Drug and Major Crimes Unit was notified and responded to the scene.

Investigators then began a drug-related death investigation.
