VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – A man was arrested after a shooting broke out at a DeLand homeless camp late last month, according to the Volusia Sheriff’s Office.

In an arrest affidavit, deputies said they responded to 2621 N. Woodland Blvd. on the morning of Aug. 27 after receiving a call about the shooting.

“Prior to arrival, Volusia Communications advised a male had shot at a male and female,” the affidavit reads. “It was also advised one male had a machine gun, and the other had a handgun.”

Upon arrival, deputies said they learned that there were three suspects in total who had left the homeless camp and entered a nearby residence.
