ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Campus police confirmed Thursday that Clark Atlanta University (CAU) issued a shelter-in-place order for students and faculty just before noon due to threats being made.

The university said it was to address a “situation on campus,” which prompted the shelter-in-place as a “precautionary measure.“

The Atlanta Police Department assisted, they said.

“We appreciate the understanding and cooperation of the campus community,” Clark Atlanta officials said in a statement. “Our priority is the safety of all students, faculty and staff.”

The shelter-in-place order was lifted Thursday afternoon.
