EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - A mother has been charged after an Evansville teen was killed in an accidental shooting.
Evansville Police Department says 36-year-old Rachel Banks was charged following the death of 14-year-old Jayvion’tae Cox .
Investigators say Cox was accidentally shot by Banks’ son September 3 who thought the gun was unloaded.

They say Banks bought the gun used in the shooting for her juvenile son.
Officials also say they have found evidence Banks was helping the juvenile buy marijuana.
Banks has been charged with dangerous control of a firearm, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, dealing marijuana and reckless homicide.
