DETROIT, MI — Michigan Lt. Gov. Garlin Gilchrist II released a statement Thursday evening, stating that there had been a “credible bomb threat” at his home.
The threat, at the Detroit home where he and his wife Ellen raise their young children, has been cleared, Gilchrist stated.
The lieutenant governor said he was grateful to law enforcement for their quick response and for keeping his family and their neighborhood safe.
“I know that people are on edge — it’s a scary time," Gilchrist stated. “This incident came just a day after the murder of Charlie Kirk and in the midst of an escalating pattern of political violence in Michigan and in America.
