The police presence at the state Capitol is increasing as a precaution in the wake of the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk in Utah. Police presence is also being increased at official off-site events as well, according to Connecticut State Capitol Police.

They said they are increasing their presence as a precaution to ensure the safety of legislators, staff and the public.
