NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WFSB) - A man has been arrested in connection with a sexual assault that happened at a New Haven park last month.

Police say that 34-year-old Ludvi Carias-Interiano was taken into custody and charged with 1st degree aggravated sexual assault and 1st degree unlawful restraint. He is currently being held on a $750,000 bond.

The incident happened on a path south of Fort Hale Dog Park on Townsend Avenue between 7:30 a.m. and 8:15 a.m. on August 9th.

“We’ve increased patrols and police presence in the area where the incident happened and we’ll do everything we can to find this person,” said Justin Elicker, Mayor, New Haven.

The victim was treated at the hospital for her injuries.
