CAPE CORAL, Fla. (WFLA) — An unexpected visitor flew in just as a private 9/11 remembrance ceremony was being held in Cape Coral.

Firefighters said they heard an eagle screech as if announcing its presence as the bird landed on top of their fire station on Burnt Store Road.

The bald eagle "stayed for a while before gracefully flying away," the Cape Coral Fire Department said in a social media post sharing photos of the encounter.
