Summer 2025 was one of the warmest and wettest in Detroit over the past 150-plus years, a seasonal climate summary shows.
The temperature in the Motor City throughout June, July and August was 73.1 degrees, according to the National Weather Service's Southeast Michigan Climate Summary. That ranks 21st all-time, among records dating back to November 1874.
The city never broke 100 degrees during the summer, according to the NWS, but the temperature peaked at 95 three times: on June 23, June 24 and July 24. The June 23 high tied a daily record for the city.
It was also a wet summer in Detroit, according to the seasonal summary. The Weather Service reported that 12.38 inches of precipitation fell during the three-month period, the 25th most since 1874.
