A nonprofit known for helping Detroit soften the blows from bankruptcy is moving its headquarters to the northwest part of the city in hopes of affecting area neighborhoods.

The Kresge Foundation is moving its offices from Troy to the Marygrove Conservancy campus in Detroit's Livernois-McNichols corridor. The 70,000-square-foot building on the northwest quadrant of the campus will hold 130 employees. It's expected to open in 2028, according to the foundation.
