PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) -- The Peoria Police Chief Eric Echevarria got people outside for the end of summer, holding a car show downtown on Thursday.
The police chief wanted to take advantage of the warm weather, so he invited the community to bring classic or modern cars to show off.
Some officers brought their own cars to the show. It was an opportunity to enjoy the last bit of summer and build relationships with the department.
"Officers from SID, special investigations division, our criminal investigations division, patrol and neighborhood services unit got together to put this car show together just to build camaraderie in the department and within the community," Neighborhood Services Unit sergeant Aaron Watkins said.
