Construction begins on new Palmer Food Bank, doubling space for community service

Construction is underway on the new Palmer Food Bank.

The project broke ground over the summer, and the building—located off South Denali Street and East Arctic Avenue—is taking shape. The new facility will be twice the size of the previous location.

The Palmer Food Bank distributes about 35,000 pounds of food each month, and leaders say the larger space will help them better meet the community’s demand.
