The Bourne High School volleyball team won its second match in a row to start the season on Wednesday evening as they won their home opener against West Bridgewater with ease, taking a 3-0 win. The reigning Division 5 state champions are now 2-0.

Coach Dave Moore’s team got off to a fast start and never looked back. The team opened with a 25-14 victory in the first set, then took a close one in the second, 25-21, as the Wildcats began to make adjustments and attack with purpose. The third set was a 25-17 BHS win.

Lily Russell put away five kills in the match with six aces and 19 digs. Nola Timo collected a team–high eight kills with three aces and six digs. Sofia Halunen saw extra time without Mayla Muldoon available and she led the offense well, doling out 17 assists.
