Former Harrisburg judge gets ruling on new trial in attempted slaying of her ex

A former Harrisburg judge who tried to kill her ex-boyfriend last year after a weeklong breakup will not get another trial, a judge ruled Wednesday.

Magisterial District Judge Sonya McKnight asked for a new trial in July , a month after she learned she’d spend the next 13.5 to 30 years in prison for trying to kill Michael McCoy on Feb. 10, 2024.
