HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A somber remembrance took place in Downtown Honolulu on Thursday to pay tribute to the victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
The ceremony was held at Tamarind Park and honored the memory of the victims killed, and the heroism of the first responders in Manhattan, the Pentagon, and in Pennsylvania.
Nearly 3,000 lives were lost that day, including at least nine with ties to Hawaii:
