A woodlands near a Scots high school has been cordoned off by police after a sexual assault.
Emergency crews raced to the Dunnikier Way area of Kirkcaldy, near Kirkcaldy High School, yesterday at around 2.55pm after receiving reports of the attack .
Officers remain at the scene today as enquiries continue.
Images from the scene show police tape across a path in a wooded area, with officers in attendance.
It is understood that the force are not treating the attack as a rape .
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.55pm on Thursday, September 11, 2025, we received a report of a sexual assault in the area of Dunnikier Way, Kirkcaldy.
“Enquiries are at an early stage and officers remain in the area.”
