College students across Ohio knew who Charlie Kirk was and the agenda of his Turning Point USA group.
But whether conservative, liberal or indifferent to politics, they were largely shocked and appalled that the 31-year-old conservative thought-leader was shot and killed during a college visit in Utah on Sept. 10.
“My immediate reaction was condemnation,” said George Fisher, a second-year student at Ohio State University in Columbus who heads the campus Students for Life group. “Left, right, Republican, Democrat – you really can’t do that to someone.”
