Charlie Kirk’s death

The killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk is a despicable, disgusting, horrific act that should offend all reasonable persons, regardless of their political persuasion. The perpetrator should be punished harshly by our justice system.

Unfortunately, this type of aggressive violence, both physical and verbal, toward people on opposite sides of the political spectrum, has become all too common over the past dozen years or so. What could be the cause of this breakdown in civility and good will toward our fellow countrymen (and women) that is so essential to our democracy?
