Accountability to the citizens

The oppressed citizens who live under the iron hand of a dictator do not have the luxury of demanding accountability.

Nearly half of the world’s population live under regimes that not only avoid any semblance of accountability but also persecute those who would hint at corruption in the ruling class. Similarly, throughout history, prior to the concept of citizen legislatures, governments existed with only the threat of revolt as an antidote to government overreach.

Our unique government system provides checks and balances that can be used to prevent abuse by ruling authorities.
