HOUSTON — The assassination of Charlie Kirk Wednesday has many Americans asking a difficult question: Are we entering a new age of political violence?

Kirk, a conservative activist, was fatally shot during a public event in Utah. It's just the latest in a troubling series of violent incidents tied to political figures.

Earlier this year, a Democratic Minnesota state legislator and her husband were killed in their home.

In April, Pennsylvania’s Democratic governor saw his home set on fire.

And Republican President Donald Trump survived an assassination attempt during his campaign last year.
